Welcome to the Castle Couture Family! Purchasing your gown is just the first step with us here at Castle Couture! Alterations is an unknown part of the bridal process, but you are in excellent hands with our expert couture seamstresses and customer service staff who makes the process as easy and comfortable every step of the way.
Your gown has arrived! Yay!! Once you get that exciting call you will schedule your Try On Gown appointment where you will try on your gown and ensure your forever look came in exactly how you envisioned it. Do keep in mind some areas of your gown might be looser than other areas, but no need to worry that's where our couture seamstresses come in to work their magic and give you Castle Couture's well known couture fit of a lifetime!
After your Try On Gown appointment, depending on the package you purchased, you'll be taking your dress home with you or leaving it here until your first fitting. All your accessories will go home with you during this time and will come back for that final fitting to complete your look! Bridal alterations will take between 4-5 fittings so please keep that in mind when booking. It is a separate service that we do offer to our customers but is not required to be done by Castle Couture if you have someone closer to home.
Your first fitting will take place 2-3 months prior to your wedding. Castle Couture specializes in a couture fit where we take in your bodice and hip seams, contour that perfect fit, hem to the shoe height you plan on wearing, adjust all straps and sleeves to your comfort as well as create a show stopping bustle so you can dance the night away! After your alterations are completed, our expert team will steam and press your gown and accessories, so they are ready for pickup the week of your wedding.
Castle Couture offers alterations on Castle Couture gowns only. We do have limited appointment slots available and recommend booking an appointment as soon as your dress arrives especially during peak seasons (April-October). Fitting Process
First-Fitting
Today you will meet with your seamstress as well as a manager to discuss the alterations needed for your gown. Your seamstress will pin the bust, waist and hip areas as well as other adjustments needed for that perfect Castle Couture fit. None of these alterations are permanent yet as alterations are a cause-and-effect process which will need adjustments throughout your 4-5 fittings. Please bring your shoes and any undergarments you plan on wearing on your wedding day as these items change the fit and length of your dress. Your alterations will be explained to you by the manager overseeing your alterations process and at this time your alterations payment is due.
Second/Third Fitting
Today you will start to see that Castle Couture fit come to life! Don't forget at this fitting you might find your lace isn't fully attached or some seams are lightly sewn based off your first fitting pins. There is still plenty of time to adjust the fit of the dress which is why none of these alterations are permanent yet. We will pin additional areas that need improvement and review your bustle options at these fittings.
Fourth/Fifth Fitting
Today you'll meet with your seamstress, and at this time it is encouraged to invite whomever will be helping you get dressed on the day of the wedding. You'll ensure us that the fit is perfect and go over the bustle in detail (make sure to take lots of photos and videos) We will schedule a pickup appointment for you at the end of this appointment.
Pickup Appointment
The time is finally here! Castle Couture will have your dress steamed and pressed ready for your big day. You'll find your dress in a body form and will be instructed on how to take care of your dress leading up to your big day!
